A Foreign Language as a Native One: language learning for children

"A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AS A NATIVE ONE" is a home computer program for fast, effective foreign language learning by children aged 1 to 15. The following languages are currently available: English, German, Turkish, Ukrainian and Kazakh (as foreign languages).

What kind of program this is

The program installs on a Windows laptop or computer. Listening is through ordinary headphones "with ears". The stimulation is passive, WITH NO EFFORT: the program is played to the child twice a day for half an hour. During that time they can play on the same computer or watch cartoons (with the sound off) - the program still works - recording the familiarity of the language in the speech areas.

Which children need the program

The program suits all children and teenagerswho need to learn a language quickly - English, German, Turkish, Ukrainian or Kazakh. It is also recommended:
• Typically developing children of all ages (each age has its own program), for the fast development of speech and thinking.
• Children with a mild developmental delay - slow thinkers, or children who seem a little less bright than their peers (in the view of the mother or the family).
• Children with attention deficit - inattentive, restless, disorganised or over-active children who find it hard to take in information because of it.
• Children with mild speech disorders - with speech therapy problems (cannot pronounce certain letters, drops or misuses endings and prepositions) and a small vocabulary (cannot answer a question quickly or describe a picture), or children you would simply like to get talking. While listening to the program in a foreign language, speech develops in the native one as well.

What the results are

The language heard in the program becomes familiar, and learning it is easy and enjoyable, phrases in conversation are built quickly and independently, and a native speaker is easy to understand. All of this comes within 2-3 months after the program ends.

Besides the main effects, using the program brings additional ones (in order of improvement):

1. The amount of speech in the native language increases - the child begins to say more, using new syllables or words (depending on the age).
2. The quality of speech improves - the child articulates words more clearly and starts correcting themselves as they speak.
3. Understanding of speech addressed to them improves - the child understands long adult phrases and answers difficult questions correctly.
4. Attention to speech addressed to them improves - they start listening to stories, reading books with their mother, and ordinary conversation becomes more interesting.
5. General attention, memory and overall intelligence improve - the processes involved in handling information.
6. Fine motor skills improve - the child starts colouring in properly, draws and writes better, and more complex skills become available, such as drawing lines or writing within squares.
7. Gross motor skills improve - running, jumping, riding a scooter and a bicycle all develop, and the child copies an adult's movements more accurately.
8. Auditory-verbal memory improves - the child can retell what they have read or heard from friends and family.
9. The correctness and beauty of speech improve for children living in a multilingual environment (for example, when the family speaks one language at home while nursery or school is in another).

School children besides that:

10. They learn languages well, write dictations and understand what they read, especially if the program was run in the language of instruction.
11. They tire less and are more attentive, which improves overall school performance. Homework gets done faster and better.

What age the program is for

The programs "A Foreign Language as a Native One" are recommended for children aged 1 to 15 and are made for these age groups:
1-2 years
3-4 years
5-6 years
7-8 years
9-12 years
13-15 years
So one program can be taken each year to improve development. It can be repeated - but not sooner than 6 months, because the growth of the brain cells stimulated by the program continues for up to six months.

What is in the program?

The program "A Foreign Language as a Native One" is audio-vocal training with music, voice and speech. We train the brain to take in speech information in a foreign language quickly and well, and to process it correctly. The program uses powerful speech stimulation - fairy tales, stories and poems, works by Mozart and Vivaldi processed in a special way, and 10-12 different effects. Every "A Foreign Language as a Native One" program also runs a parallel Visual Stimulation, which strengthens the effect of the program and gives an extra push to intellectual development.

The know-how of the method is a particular computer processing of music and speech across different frequency bands, and the use of special effects that stimulate and restore particular areas of the brain.

Structure of the programs. The program consists of 12 sub-programs, each producing a particular effect to stimulate different areas of the brain. A separate quality "module" also runs: it checks that the course is being followed correctly and provides resistance to viruses and other malware.
Technical requirements. Listening requires Windows 7 or later and ordinary closed headphones (the over-ear kind, see the photographs above).
Installation. The installation package can be supplied on a flash drive or by link (downloading the required type of program from our server). Instructions for installing it and going through the course are included.

How the listening goes

1.  The installation package is supplied either as a personal link with instructions or on a flash drive.
2.  A smartphone, tablet or laptop is needed to take the course.
3.  Listening is through ORDINARY HEADPHONES (the closed kind) twice a day for half an hour over 21-30 days, depending on the type of program (the child's age). The listening plan is set inside the program itself (as in the photograph).
4.  A marked positive change in development continues for 4 months after the program ends.

When the results come

The program stimulates the growth of new neurons in the cortex, and existing nerve connections also grow faster. So you will see the first visible changes in the child from the middle of the program, and then increasingly over the 3-6 months after it ends.
